Block B Gas Development

The Block B Gas Development Project is a large-scale offshore gas field development in Vietnam, aiming to produce natural gas to meet the country's growing energy demands.

Location: Southwestern offshore Vietnam with sea water depth of about 77 meters


Owners:

  • PVEP (Petrovietnam Exploration Production Corporation)

  • MOECO (Mitsui Oil Exploration)

  • PTTEP (PTT Exploration and Production Public Co., Ltd.)


Investment cost: $12 billion


Project scale:

  • Upstream: Block B mine

  • Midstream: Block B - O Mon pipeline

  • Downstream: 4 gas power plants (3,810MW) O Mon I, II, III, IV


Total pipeline: 406 kilometers, including 329 km undersea and 102 km onshore; from Block B to the O Mon Power Complex
